Two-bedroom apartment, lounge with kitchen, bathroom, shower with basin in master bedroom, separate toilet.
Ski locker. Private parking place in underground garage, with direct lift access

Chalet style decoration. The apartment was fully redecorated in 2009 with new fabrics, curtains, lights and wall paintings. It has been awarded the Meribel Label.

Master bedroom 1, lounge and balcony are south-facing.
The twin-bedroom 2 is west-facing.

Bedroom 1 is equipped with a double 160x200cm bed. Bedroom 2 is equipped with two single beds: one 90x200cm bed and one 90x190cm bed. All mattresses were renewed in 2009.
The coach in lounge also sleeps two people on two separate mattresses 70x190cm each. The apartment sleeps 6 people. But for your own comfort, we recommend it for 4 people.

The large balcony is furnished with garden table and chairs and a storing cabinet for household rubbish and for recycling (food containers and glass).

The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4-zone ceramic hob, hood, fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave. Also very well equipped with small electrical devices, dishes, glassware and silverware.

Télevision and HiFi in the living-room with DVD/CD reader, radio, iPod-docking station.
WiFi and free Internet access in the residence. G3+ key in the apartment

Non-smoking apartment
The apartment is strictly non-smoking. Please smoke on the balcony only and collect your cigarette butts

Skis and ski boots
It is strictly forbidden to wear ski boots and to bring skis or snowboards in the apartment or in any other place of the residence, if not dedicated to that purpose.

Terms of payment
Down payment : A 30% down payment is required to confirm booking
Full payment : balance outstanding to be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the holiday period.
Damage deposit : A 300 € damage deposit shall also be paid no later than 6 weeks before the start of the holiday period. This deposit is returned to you within a week after the holiday, if no damage has been reported by the housekeeper.
For all bookings made within 6 weeks of the holiday, full payment is required to confirm reservation.

Modes of payment
Payments are made in Euros exclusively, either by bank transfer or via PayPal.
If you wish to use PayPal, please inform us in advance.
If you use a credit card to credit our PayPal account, we will be automatically charged the fees of the transaction. We will ask you to put a surcharge on the payment corresponding to these fees.
If instead you choose to credit your PayPal account by transferring money from your bank account, transaction fees will be reduced (approximately 0.4%), and we will ask you to select the option allowing you to pay the transaction fees.
We only take bank checks for the payment of the damage deposit.

Included in the rental rate
Cleaning after your stay (approximately 70 €) is included in the rate. However, if the apartment is left very dirty, extra time will be charged at a rate of 60 €/hour which will be withdrawn from the damage deposit.

Not included in rental rate :
Linen and towels.
We can provide linen and towels. Please inform us about your needs no later than 6 weeks before the holiday. Linen and towels will be paid at the time of full payment.

full set for 1 person: 21 € (sheets, pillowcase, large and small bath towels, bathroom carpet, dish towel)
full set for 2 (double bed): 33 €
towels only: 9 €/personne
bathrobe: 10 €

Beds made up on arrival: 8 € for a double bed, 6 € for a twin-bed.

Baby chair and cot.
We can rent them locally. We will inform you about the price to be paid with the rent. They will be in the apartment on arrival.

Keys
Keys will be available anytime in a keysafe placed outside the house of our housekeeper. Address and keysafe code will be communicated when full payment and damage deposit will be received. Apartment keys also open the ski locker.

Garage
The garage gate opens by means of a remote control. The remote control is in the apartment.

Arrival
Arrival time is 4 pm. This is to ensure housekeeping has been done. Please inform us if you wish to arrive earlier.

Departure
Departure time is 10 am.
Before leaving :
Please wash and store all dishes.
Put all used sheets and towels in the bathroom.
Switch off lights, Hifi, TV.
Put all remote controls in the corner cupboard. Do not forget garage remote.
Close windows, balcony door and lock the front door.
Bring away all remaining rubbish and recycling bags.
Bring back keys into housekeeper’s keysafe.

Cancellation
Sooner than 6 weeks before the holiday period: deposit is lost.
Beyond 6 weeks before the holiday period: full payment is lost. Damage deposit is transferred back to you. This is because finding another rental opportunity becomes low beyond that date.
However, we would do our best, and in case of success, we would pay you back the full amount.
In any case, we suggest to take a cancellation insurance.

Access to the slopes and to the 3-Valley ski area

The Fermes de Meribel are at the bottom of the blue piste “Lapin”. Along this piste, the chairlift "Golf" is only a hundred meters away from the residence, as seen on the pictures taken from the balcony.

This chairlift goes up to the Altiport. Then glide along to the “Altiport” chairlift, and from the top, you can either ski down to central Meribel, and further to the whole 3-Valley area, or you can join the "Loze" chairlift with direct access to Courchevel ski area.

Meribel-Village is ideally located for fast and easy access to all parts of Three-Valleys.
This can be observed on ski area maps of Meribel or of the Three Valleys.

You can also easily ski down the Lapin run to Meribel-Village, to only a few dozen meters from the residence entry.

In the evening, a one-step 1300 meters descent will bring you down from Saulire (the highest pass between Meribel and Courchevel) to Meribel-Village, through average to easy slopes.

Snow conditions

The blue piste "Lapin" going down to Meribel-Village is equipped with snow canons. Skiing down home is therefore ensured throughout almost all the season.

Although Meribel is located at an altitude between 1400 et 1700 m, it has particularly good snow conditions. Over the last few years, natural snow coverage and the excellent work made by Meribel Alpina snow groomers allowed to ski down the "Lapin" run until mid-April.

When the snow pack becomes too thin (after April 15th, in 2009), the chairlift “Golf” brings you down to the village.

You can either buy your passes online and get them from the booth in Meribel-Village, or directly buy them at the booth.

A third option is to use the four cards you will find in the apartment, and load them at the booth. In such case:
1. You will spare 3 €/card, that you would otherwise pay for a new card.
2. If you come back to us next year, we will offer you a special discount corresponding to 5% of your ski passes.
There is no need for a ticket. All purchases are recorded automatically.

There is no need for a picture either. Ski passes can be stored in your pocket, and open lift gates magnetically.

Ski hire

The ski shop of Meribel-Village is at the roundabout, across the street from the Fermes de Meribel. You can either hire your skis, snowboards and boots locally or make an online reservation.

You can also hire skiing equipment in one of the numerous sport shops in Meribel. Most of them also propose online reservation.

Summer activities

In addition to hiking and walking (which we describe in next section) Meribel offers access to plenty of sport or miscellaneous activities, for all ages and for all training levels:

Sport : tennis, golf, mountain climbing, paragliding, fishing, swimming, ice-skating, nordic walking, mountain biking, etc.
Introduction to Alpine fauna and flora.
Evening gatherings in mountain pastures.
For the kids : day-care with numerous activities, half-day discovery walks, local village fairs.
Wellness and fitness : wellness centres with spa, sauna, hammam, fitness in Meribel, in Meribel-Village and in Brides-les-Bains.
Culture : concerts in the baroque churches of the valley, lectures on nature, exhibitions, visits and museums, such as the Cultural Heritage museum in Les Allues.
Miscellaneous activities : bowling, cinema, weekly ice-hockey games, village fairs, gala ice-skating exhibitions, etc …

It is definitely possible to spend several weeks in Meribel in the summer, and to entertain oneself with different activities each day.

Summer and winter hikes and walks

Summer :
You can go walking or hiking on three different levels :

Walking in the woods and across the villages of the valley. Meribel-Village is the starting point of several walks going down to the other villages or up to the forest, just outside the village. A 45-minute walk across woods and meadows will bring you to Meribel. You can also walk to Courchevel through the forest.
Walks and hikes in the moutain pastures and on the ridges. Numerous trips on way-marked trails will offer you stunning views on the surrounding alpine massifs.
Middle mountain : hiking in the Vanoise National Park. Direct pedestrian access from Meribel-Mottaret. Nights in mountain refuges. Glacier hikes. Guided hiking.

Winter :
Lots of cleared and way-marked pedestrian paths will bring you down to the valley or up to the ridges. Several paths start from Meribel-Village.
Snow-shoeing and sleigh rides are also frequently organised. Contact the tourism office for more information.
Snowmobiling excursions also possible.
And of course, cross country ski fans will find several tracks linking Meribel to Courchevel or in the natural reserve of Lake La Tueda.

Golf

The Meribel Golf is the only 18-hole golf in the Three-Valleys.

It is near the Altiport.

Build on terraces on the slopes above Meribel-Vilage, it is surrounded by nature and offers beautiful views on the Mont-Blanc and other Alpine massifs.

It is a Par 71, 5538 meters long.

You will find golf equipment and clothes in every sport shop in Meribel and in Meribel-Village.

Meribel-Village shopping

All shops are just across the street from the apartment.

Bakery « Le Village des Pains » :
Excellent bakery, popular throughout the whole valley. Fresh bread every morning, baked on wood fire. You can also reserve your pizzas, also baked on wood fire. A tariff is available in the apartment. The bakery also provides all equipment and all ingredients for your fondue or your raclette. Savoie cheeses and delicatessen. Picnic sandwiches.

Sport shop « Ski Set » :
Ski equipment, for sale or for hire. Golf and hiking equipment. Sport clothes.

Meribel-Village « Spar » Supermarket :
Vegetables, fruits, meat, cheeses, wine, newspaper, English food, and general household.
On-line reservation. Home delivery.

Clothes shop « Coco Style »,
Lingerie, leather goods, ready-to-wear.

Bar and Restaurant « Le Lodge du Village »
Bar, pizzas, happy hour, live bands.

Shuttle buses between Meribel and Meribel-Village

Free Meribus shuttle buses travel across the resort and commute between Meribel and all villages in the valley.

A 5-minute drive will bring you from Meribel to Meribel-Village.

Last shuttle leaves Meribel at 0:30 am.

Moutiers, buses, train station, market

Moutiers is the closest town, located in the Tarentaise valley, 14 kms downhill from Meribel. it is also the closest train station.

During the ski season, there is a weekly Thalys train connecting every Saturday Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels to Moutiers.

Market in Moutiers every Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Ski locker

The ski locker is in the ski room on floor -1.
The ski locker opens with the same key as the apartment.
There is room for 6 to 8 pairs of skis or for 4 pairs of skis and 2 snowboards

Bike storage area

There is a locked bike storage area in the garage on floor -2.
It is equipped with a combination lock. The garage gate opens with a remote control that you will find in the apartment.

The residence is equipped with free access WiFi.

Local restaurants

Meribel-Village :
Le bô à mil   Savoie specialities and traditional French cuisine in the beautiful vaults of an old sawmill. Wooden terrace.

Lodge du Village   Italian cuisine, pizzas, English pub, happy hour, live bands

Le Plantin (5 minutes away in a hamlet on the road to Courchevel)
Restaurant Le Plantin   Traditional Savoie and French cuisine. Large dining-room. Rustic wooden decoration. Fire place.

Les Allues
La Croix Jean-Claude   (next to the town hall)
Our favourite one. Excellent traditional and Savoie cuisine at a moderate price. Warm Savoie style decoration. Kind and friendly welcome from the owner and waiters.
The pub next to the restaurant is also a nice place where to get a drink after skiing or after hiking, while reading newspapers at your disposal.

Meribel
There are obviously many other restaurants, pizzerias or crêperies in Meribel and in Mottaret. More information is available in the apartment.
