Meribel is in Savoie, in the heart of 3 Vallées, the world’s largest ski area, with more than 375 miles of ski runs, linking together Courchevel, Meribel, Les Menuires and Val Thorens.
Meribel lies between 1450 et 1700m in Les Allues Valley, which by itself possesses 94 miles of ski runs (73 pistes and 53 lifts). Meribel’s ski area stretches from 1400m to 2950m, on top of Mont Vallon.
There are also 56 miles cross country tracks, between Meribel and Courchevel or in the natural reserve of Lake La Tueda, and 16 miles way-marked pedestrian trails. Frequent snow-shoeing walks and sleigh rides are also organised throughout the season.
All the buildings of Meribel have maintained the traditional Savoyard style of wood, stone and slate sloping roofs giving the resort and all the villages around an unique character and a beautiful harmony.
During the Albertville 1992 Olympic Games, Meribel hosted the women’s alpine competition and ice hockey. After the Olympics, the Olympic Park building was further developed and offers today an ice rink, a swimming pool, a wellness and fitness centre and a bowling.
